Message: I just did the same except I replaced the rad. cap first and bled the motors air out and it helped a bit but it didnt help under a load (TOWING) so I changed t-stat and did a complet flush ( block and all ) that seemed to work. Dont forget to bleed off the air out of the engine. All seems good now. I did the plugs and put a bottle injector cleaner in with about 3 gallons of fuel and ran that. And It seems to run like new again for now.

Message: jack, make sure there is nothing blocking the condensor or the radiator. There could be debris in the fins on the radiator or the condensor restricting the air flow over them.
also is the electric fan turning on when it should? and with the engine off how hard is it to spin the mechanical fan? Id clean the outside of the condensor and radiator off and make sure nothing is restricting air flow
Hope you find the problem no A/C stinks
Run till you blow stop think and put in a bigger engine

Message: Jack,
I think you've gotten some good advice. But even though you've flushed the radiator, sometimes crud gets in it and won't flush out. ONce you've checked out and corrected all the cheap possibilities, if you continue to have a problem, replace the radiator. Think about the radiator especially if your problem worsens under load. If you're overheating under all conditions, you could have other problems. When you do a flush, its always best to take out the thermostat and do the block. Even in the dallas heat, your temp should remain close to normal even under a load.
