Subject: Swaping Injectors IP: Logged
Message: I'm from the v6 web side, but I informed my boss about swaping injectors for better mpg (hes always complained about that). He wondered if this voids his warranty? Makes it run hotter? The exact mpg it will help? And for me what lb rating I need to find for him, since I will be installing. He drives a 2000 Durango with the beast 5.9l. Thanks

Message: the injectors will not help mpg that much. i have them, and didnt notice any differance. even if they did help a little, they are not woth $120 or what ever they are going for.IMHO

Message: On my 2000 R/T I picked up 3-4MPG Hwy, can't keep my foot out of it long enough to get a good idea for the city. But keep in mind the Design III are more expensive.

Message: Several things could have contributed, I have a supercharger and the 98 and 00 have different type injectors.
But yes I did get the increase in mpg. I didn't expect it.

Message: I have a 99 Durango with the 5.9 what do you (eye trip) think will work on mine? I have been considering an injector swap but I am (actually my engine is...) naturally aspirated. I have Intake, TB, Headers, Exhaust. Will the Design III's work in my application and what is the primary difference in the Design 3 and 2... Is it the nozzle openings? a little help would be appreciated

Message: From what I understand, The Design III's started in 2000 the only difference that I know of it the way it connects to the fuel rail. I do know that from the factory (Design II and III's) have a + or - tolerance of something like 15%. The FMS (Ford Motor Sport) injectors I think are like less than .5%. Big difference! I believe that it's all from the same manufacture just different spec's
I would think on using the 19#er for both the 5.9 and the 5.2 FMS injectors flow more and more accrate. The PCM will do the rest.
I hope this helps
Keep in mind I am new to the performance Dakota. But am no stranger to high performance. So if bernd or C/W has any input, go with what they have to say.

Message: I'm new to moding dodges, I'm use to moding the gm products. I know how an engine works, can take it apart, put it back together, but as far as swaping parts for performance, I don't know. Thanks for the input.
