alignment guy says LF ball joints are bad (RF upper looks sloppy as well)
Looks like a SOB to change out DIY. Guy wants $250/side to do both ($200 parts and 250 labor).
Does this sound about right (I am in San Francisco Bay Area)

That sounds kind of steep. The balljoints on www.rockauto.com range from $10.56 to $58.79 each. Labor is probably about $65.00 an hr. I'm not sure what times a labor book would have on R & R the balljoints.
Tha hard part to changing them is getting the old rivets out. Do some site searches here and you'll find a few different methods used to remove them.

I haven't seen a $65/hr rate around here in more than a decade. $100 is "reasonable"<G>
