Message: Just bought a 97 318 Dakota Sport (wish it had extra cab).
I have some smogg issues...a misfire in hole 7 and front O2 sensor reporting bad info.
Got the parts.
Would like a service manual other than the $100 job I've found on line.
one of the publishers offers a $20 subscription to an online tech manual. (a Haynes manual covering the truck would probably cost the same).
Any suggestions which to choose?

Message: Well, sone nobody suggested anything...I bought several.
the Haynes is the more useful book than the Chilton.
Both have errors.
still useful to have both for the explanations differ.

Message: I have the dealer service manual on a CD. I can ship you a copy for $12. It covers every inch of the truck including electrical. It covers 97-04. Send an email if interested. Steve1752@yahoo.com

Message: Correction: my manual says 97-04 but it only covers 4 engines: 5.9, 4.7, 3.9, 2.5. For some reason the 318 (5.2) isn't in it.

Message: ebay? I bought a "1997-2000" factory manual on PDF. It is for a 2000 vehicle, my engine is not even listed.
I bought a Chilton book that was supposed to cover my 97 but was for a Gen 1.
And feedback is useless these days.
Amazon had what I needed for less money and quicker shipping.
