Subject: Headlight Question? IP: Logged
Message: My 2000 4.7 SLT Dakota headlight covers seemed to have dis-colored over the years. They are not clear, but have more of a tan/faded tint to them.
Does anyone know if they can be dis-assembled and cleaned, or if you need to buy new one's. Also does anyone know what new one's might cost if I go that route.
Thanks.

Message: 3M makes a kit just for this purpose, You'll be surprised how bright the headlights after.
Check out the link I added below. You can find the kit at auto zone & most likely other parts stores.

Message: I'm told toothpaste works as well...but I think a specific solution would be better. Ask for recommendations at your local professional auto parts store (where, in my experience, the counter people usually know lots more than at the chain stores)
