Subject: radiator IP: Logged
Message: i just replaced my radiator and now its just leakin through a hose somewhere. the hoses were fine when i fixed the radiator. is there something that could cause the cooling system to go out over and over again?

Yes, it's called lack of proper maintenance.
But really, 9 out 10 times that you make a cooling system repair you will find another leak somewhere. When you repair the worst leak the system will build a little more pressure until the next weakest link is found.
If you can it is best to change the hoses and clamps when changing a radiator out. Just like I always changed out the thermostat when I change a waterpump. Cheap insurance.

Message: daddio is right on. My radiator just sprung a leak too. Since its 6 years old, I'm changing hoses too. You'd really feel bad if a $1 clamp or $15 hose caused the truck to overheat and ruin a head. Like daddio said, its cheap insurance. In general, I change hoses and belts every 5-7 years or so, I never wait for them to fail or leak. Don't forget about the heater hoses, they are smaller but the result is the same.
