Subject: Torque converts- whats the difference? IP: Logged
Message: My problem with transmission turned out to be a bad torque converter. The local parts store has remanufactured converters pretty cheap. But whats the difference between a lock-up and a non lock-up converter? Is it the same as being detained and being arrested? Because where I live the results are the same. You in some deep chit!!!

Message:
A lock up TC has a hydraulic or mechanical device inside the TC that causes a true mechanical connection between the two sets of turbine blades. All modern automatic transmissions have a lockup TC.
