I am trying to change my exhaust back to factory just because I ran into a lot of trouble when I started cutting up the exhaust and putting on long tubes so I am just going to go back to the shorties.. Well the factory exhaust system found its way to the scrap yard or I would just use it. What I am looking for is a part number for the factory direct fit pre-muffler system.. I have found plenty but when I ask about them they are only for Dakotas with 2 O2 sensors.. I have an 01 Dakota R/T with the 4 O2 sensors. Any one able to help me with this? Or is there a way to change mine from the 4 sensor setup to the 2?

Thanks in advance!

4 sensors to 2 sensors - not possible with OBDII (1996 and later).

Here's what I found:

2001 Dakota 2WD:
engine code EMO (5.9L)
part number 52103 482AB

2001 Dakota 4WD:
engine code EMO (5.9L)
part number 52103 483AB

These part numbers were new for model year 2001, and the item is called CONVERTER, Catalytic.
That's because it's all one piece from the exhaust manifold connector to the pipe that connects to the muffler. It's a welded unit.

Need more?

I have parts manuals, but I don't have updates and changes to them, so check the part real good when it arrives to make sure it's exactly what you need.

Good Luck
