Hi all,
I have a 95 dakota slt, 121,000 miles with a v8.
Of course it has the 2-3 gear shift issue. I know it had the tranny flushed 5 k miles ago before I bought it but the receipt does'nt show what fluid they used. After reading many different Dakota boards I replaced the tps thinking it would fix my problem.It did'nt and it seems to be getting worse. Sometimes it shifts PERFECT other times I have to rev it to over 4k to get it to shift. Also, recently, it is having trouble shifting into reverse. Most of the time I need to rev it to 2-3 k to get it into reverse and of course it "bangs" into gear.
My local Dodge dealer says they will drain, inspect and adjust for $ 175.00 which I think is a pretty good deal.
It seems like a jekyl/hyde thing with the tranny. Any one else have this issue?
