I used to post here all the time. I had a 2002 Dakota v6 that I dropped a 360 with vortech s/c in. Along with various other things. Sad to say goodbye to the dodge but family needs and life changes made me change.
I just bought this truck on ebay and absolutely love it.

Unfortunately I have to say goodbye to modding...I think this trucks going to stay stock except for a bedliner. I would highly recommend the 2009 fords to anybody, the things beautiful and has plenty of power.

It wasn't like a flame thing, the new ford truck is really nice. I'm a huge fan of it. Tundra's make me laugh though. They try to play truck.
Bottom of barrel HP but top of the line for towing/hauling. Plus it just looks good.

How do you figure "top of the line for towing/hauling" with "bottom of the barrel HP" ?
If the Toyota is "playing", it's playing rough. I was considering one until I got a great deal on a hemi Ram. The new truck hemis are up to 390 HP and 407 foot pounds of torque. How will you out tow that if you have less power ?
Glad you like your new truck, but let's be realistic.

Iam a Dodge guy,but i would rather have a Ford than a toy. The Ford is at least All american truck. If your getting a toy just for its hp , forget it ive ran one and there not all that bad.I beat him three times in a row.

I'm not giving the link to show which is a better truck, I posted it so you could look at the max towing/payload specs. The award is obviously unfair without Toyota, GMC etc. F-150 is 11300lbs (In SuperCrew 4x4 6.5 bed), the Dodge Ram is 7300lbs in Laramie SLT Quad Cab. The F-150 also has more max payload then the dodge. HP doesn't mean that much, I think the 1/4 times were within .5 seconds. But I didn't buy the new truck to race.

Don't ask me how the F150 out tows the Ram by 50% with less power. That's just what the specs say.

Well, it really helps to have a 6 speed transmission(6R80) and 4.10 gears when towing 5 tons. The 5.4L Triton puts out 320 HP and 390ftlbs toruqe with E-85.
The larger 5.7 puts out 390 HP and 407 ftlbs with only 87 octane.
But kudos to Ford; because there's a lot of people out there that could really save money buying a very stought 1/2 ton over a more expensive HD truck.
But I still wouldn't tow over 11,000 pounds with any half ton regardless what they say.

ive pulled 7500 lbs with a half tone and let me tell you, its no treat
well, it wasnt that bad but its not even a comparison pulling 9k with my 3500
7k with the cummins isnt even noticeable
regardless, towing over 9k with a half tone would be a little hairy anyway
and that tow rating is for 2wd, you need to look at the tow rating for the truck you have

congrats on the new truck.
here's my opinion on all new fullsize trucks. there's no such thing as a 1/2 ton truck anymore. 1/2 trucks are having higher gvwr than 3/4 ton trucks of the past.

I have never towed over 10k with it
really, a full size truck (a diesel even) loaded on a car trailer wont even weigh in at 10k

Yea, I've been looking around for a R/T at a good price to play with but the things are really holding their value. I don't think their price will drop anytime soon. Maybe I'll pick up another v6 for some fun.

Ok what year truck is it? Do you have the common rail cummins that was avalible in the 03 trucks?
If you really want HD there is another way Superbee. The 5500 Ram with a 6.7L ISB Cummins engine! :)
