Subject: emissions light & speed sensor IP: Logged
Message: I've been to the garage twice with our 2005 V8 Dodge Dakota Quad cab, and they haven't fixed it! The emmissions light is on & on 3 occassions now the truck has just stalled out while driving. I was able to start it right back up. The 1st time the garage just unplugged the battery & said they fixed some rubbing wires, the light came back on 20 minutes down the road! I took it up a 2nd time for the emissions light & also to have a speed sensor replaced. This is the 2nd time for a speed sensor in less than a year! Has anyone else had this problem? We left with the emissions light off, the garage said it went off when they replaced the speed sensor(?), but about 2 hours later the emissions light came back on! I'm getting really frustrated! Any ideas?

Message: one idea comes to mind. find another shop. unplugging the battery just resets the PCM and clears the codes that tripped the light. go to Autozone and ask them to read the codes. then come back and post what codes, if any, they find.
the "emissions light" as you call it comes on for more than just emissions problems.
