Just keep it serviced when ever it needs. Flushed, that pretty good for a A518 if it went 250K miles without and overhaul.

I have a 2002 Dakota R/T, the tranny takes some time to shift from 1st to 2nd, and the indicator doesn`t go all the way to park sometimes. What could this be?

That indicator rod , is this something that I can change? And would this cause the tranny to shift late?

Jackie,

Is this the 4.7? Did you change both filters?

Some aftermarket filters DO NOT seal correctly. If
that happens the pump will cavitate and you won't
move.

Drop the pan and replace with MOPAR filters.

I have a 2005 Dodge Dakota Sport with a Magnum V8 engine. The service 4wd light keeps popping on and off while driving as well as the indicator that I am in 4wd when I am not. Is this a sensor or module problem or something more serious?

I replaced transfer case and still getting unusual clinking sound that is intermittent. After rolling at 60 mph sounds ok but increasing to higher speed results in vibration. Could something else be damaged?

1998 Dodge Dakota. Tuck was slow taking of in first gear. Tranny problems when the truck would heat up. the codes sent me to the #8 plug and wire so I changed all the plugs. then the code sent me to the governor pressure sensor, so I changed that and the filter. still having the same problem but the check engine light has not come back on. Where do I go now?

I have a 2005 Dodge Dakota with a 4.7 and the
transmision temp light keep coming on after driving
about 15-20 min. I took it to a trans shop and they
said it need to be rebuilt. The truck only had 95000
miles on it. I had them rebuild it and now the light
is still coming on. I have taken it back to them 3
times. Now they say it is the the trans cooling
lines running to close to the catalytic converter.
Has anyone run into this issue. Does anyone have a
suggestion on how to sheild it.
