Message: I have a 2001 4x4 v8 crew cab dakota, the joint on the steering shaft just above the steering box, is totally shot, the dealer parts counter says it comes as a whole intermediate shaft.... Can I replace without taking down the steering column? is it a hard replacement or does it unbolt from the shaft on the steering box and unbolt at the column? it doesn't really show it in my Haynes book.
