I have a 2001 QC 4.7l automatic. This is the third time this has happened. I start the truck and put in in D and the engine revs to about 2200-2500 rpm but I'm not going any faster that idle speed. It will do this a couple of times when I stop and then accel., any ideas.

Got a 13 HP enduro OHV, anyone know what the top RPM is? I wnat to take it to about 17HP and increase the top end breathing ability. Plus, I want to make sure I get most of the A/F mixture burned to keep emissions down.
ANy ideas?
Engine has an adjustable carb and stuff.

Hey Cuttingrass you are better off getting a higher hp Biggs and trading in that crap Techumseh engine. Most small engines run about 3600rpms but on the Techumseh then run about 3100 to 3200 because the engine can't handle the higher revs because it will blow a rod. Also those engines already have an extremally lean running carb on it now and there is no way to adjust it.

What's going on here?

I think I just had a flashback 25yrs, when I rebuilt my mini-bike engine, tecumsah, removed the gov, and it threw a rod!

I ended up going with a Kawasaki motor. Took it from 12 to 17HP by milling the head, boring the cylinder.020. I drilled out the main jet on the carb too. Runs very well, I clocked 17.1 HP on the dyno at 3560 RPM Exhause pipe is lean and clean.
Yes, I tried this with the Junkeumseh and you were right, I tossed the rod through the block!
