I have an 01 quad cab 4.7 4x4. Has been a great truck. Recently though if I have to slam my brakes on too hard the RPM's want to dip and occasionally kills the engine. This happened recently where I was in a downhill facing intersection trying to turn left and had to stop quick prior to the turn. That sucked. This has also happened going uphill as fyi. Any suggestions on what the problem might be?

Have you checked for trouble codes ? Key on off on off on (not start) will set codes in the odometer window.
