Subject: Trouble starting my 2001 R/T

My truck was recently out of commision for a few months due to body work and a faulty radiator, so when I finally got it fixed my battery died. I put a new one in and it hesitated to start, but I thought it was simply because it had been sitting for a while. When the truck's cold it takes a few tries, but when it's warmed up there's no trouble at all. Also, after it starts the engine idles roughly for a few seconds then clears up. During this time I smell fuel, almost like it's flooded. Overall it runs strong while driving, so I can't figure out what's causing the starting trouble. Would a simple tune up cause the problem or is it something bigger like a bad starter or fuel pump? Thanks.
