Subject: Factory Limited Slips?

Message:
I have a 2002 dakota sport 4x4 with the 4.7...
Did these come stock with limited slip rear ends? Just went outside to play around with it to test it, and its hard to tell. The wheels spin easy, but only sometimes does the left wheel kick in to help get some traction.
thanks-

It was an available option, but not standard equipment. Check the sticker under the hood or in the glove box, it should tell you.

Jack up both tires, place the trans in Neutral, spin one tire, and watch the other. It will either spin in the same direction, or the opposite.

I can never remember which one is LSD, and which isn't. So do a little more research and you'll find the correct answer.

If the other one spins opposite, it's an open rear. That is also what this poster likely has, from his description.
