I own a 2001 QC 4.7 Auto. A friend of mine likes my truck so much he wants to buy one, but he wants a Manual. The dealer told him that the 5 speed was only avalible with the V6. Has Something changed this year? Do you have to special order a truck to get a Manual with a V8?
On a side note, I payed a visit to the Dodge site, they have a section on the R/T Family there. I don't see The Dakota R/T there ? Whats up with that?

Last I heard, you could still get the 4.7L in a 5-speed. More than likely it was just that said dealer didn't -have- any in stock, and wanted to sell one of their Autos.

That's a load of crap, I own a 4.7L 5spd. Most dealers do not have them though, and it would need to be special ordered. I don't know if I would order from them though, they have already lied once to you, what hold them from doing it again.

Yup, you can DEFINITELY get a V8 with a 5 speed. When I was shopping for mine, the 3 dealerships I stopped at only had V6's with 5 speeds on the lot. I ordered mine and got exactly the truck that I wanted.

to get a Dakota R/T, you have to add the option as your building the truck (according to the site) I don't understand either why they don't advertize it like the rest of them. As far as I'm concerned the Dakota and the Viper are the only real R/Ts left.
Neon R/T lol come on
you imagine if you were to go back in time and tell someone with a 69 charger R/T what a Neon R/T would be, hehe

Has anyone actually looked at the specs for the Neon-SRT4??? It is slated to be the fastest production car in North America under $20,000
I wouldn't drive one, but I certainly will be cautious when stepping up to one. Do we still call them ricers is the question on my mind!

THe SRT-4 Sounds neat, and from the stats I here its supposed to have some zip, supposed to be competition for the WRX. Looks neat and everything, But, still though its hard to look around the fact its a neon. Thats what turns me off :^|

Not just the WRX, but the new Lancer EVO (not the ghetto civic version), that AWD Ford Focus thing.

Anyone remember the Toyota All-Trac Turbo Celica? Or the Mazda 323 GTX? The late 80's were kick-ass for small fast cars that handled well.
Back then I was young and poor - now is the time for this stuff to make a comeback for me...

a 15 sec truck wearing an R/T badge doesn't particularly uphold the R/T heritage...of couse that is just my opinion.
