Subject: Trouble Code 25?

Message:
I just got my 1995 Dakota SLT up and running again after a computer failure and have a small problem. I keep getting the red "Check Engine" light and my code-reader (Auto X-Ray) is pulling code 25. It says something about the AIS being open or shorted. Where should I begin looking for this problem, and what should I look for, shy of a broken wire? The truck HAS been idling funny, but I thought that it was due to the new computer "learning" how I drove, the climate, etc. This is the 5.2L V8.

Well, I would start with the AIS.

Yeah, you think? I disconnected the IAC motor wire from the motor and it was clean, but since I plugged it back in the truck idles MUCH better, runs better, and no code. The thing is, it was in tight and locked by that clip on the connector before I disconnected it. Is this a sign of a failing IAC motor?

Before if I revved the engine even slightly, the engine would idle VERY low and then idle back up or stall prior to this change in behavior. It would sometimes stall if I was moving slowly through town and released the accelerator to slow down or stop. Now it acts like it has a hell of a lot more power and will drop to idle speed and no lower when revving the engine or slowing down. I have changed NOTHING else.
