Subject: 00 4.7L QC Pinging issue IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2000 dakota 4.7L v8 quad cab automatic that has a pinging issue. Replaced spark plugs and used seafoam. Ran that store bought "injector" cleaner in it before. Seafoam in the gas tank also to try that. Still pings heavily in part throttle and full throttle acceleration. Any ideas?

Message: 1. Is pings stock. But it does have a superchips on it (i like the improved shifting) but even when stock tune it pings.
2. Yes, I acctually replaced them twice. Correct factory gap set.
3. 87 regular octane, even on 89 it still pings some.

Message: i think you need to check the fuel pressure at part and full throttle. if it is running below spec it can cause pinging. also, what tstat are you running? try running a 180 deg if you don't have one now. did you go one range colder on the new plugs?
and for the heck of it check for any codes.
