Message: I have been dealing with a problem where my truck runs like crap when cold. Once it warms up 20-30mins. Then it will run ok. Started out just around 35-40 mph I would feel the engine miss or jerk real quick then it started to do this more often when the engine was cooler. I also started to hear a strang noise from the right rear of the motor on start up and would go away 5-10 seconds later. To better describe what is going on the truck feels like its starving for fuel or a sever engine miss bucking and jerking. 3 shops later no cure. Everything from distributor, plugs, wires, cap, computer and I think every sensor on the engine has been replaced, even cranksensor. I also had the block bushing and drive gear replaced. My timing is all over the place. Its been index and reindex
Is it possible my flywheel is damaged? Is it possible thats the noise I hear on start up? How can I check this? I think I saw a inspection cover on trans? What do I look for?
I need your help please I love this truck for some odd reason. Thanks

Message: Your timing chain is stretched and needs to be replaced. It has the same chain I had in my 93 and it had over an inch of stretch in it. My timing was all over the place from 15 deg advanced to 20 retarded in one revolution. the chain is about 100 bucks and its a relatively easy job to do yourself if you have tools and are mechanically inclined.

Message: I had replaced the timing chain also. I did not mention that. And I have gone over and back and double checked everything possible except flywheel. My reason for thinking flywheel is what else is there to check.

Message: Have you looked at the cam position sensor in the distributor? it is a hall effect sensor that detects revolutions in the distributor, it controls fuel injector timing. I would start there next if you haven't.
