Well I got out at 12 am from work the other night and when I left I could have sworn that my truck was turning harder than normal. So I went to the closest gas station and checked out my fluid level and checked out my tire pressure. Everything is how it should have been. Then two days later it got a little worse. It seems that the the steering is alright for while tuning the wheel either way about and inch. Then you have to really have to pull with both hands to make it go farther. Today my neighbor said to check and see if the steering fluid moves while turning the wheel. Well it does and you can hear the pump whine a little when you to all the way to the right or left.

So if the fluid level is up and the pump is working what could be wrong? What could I check next? My neighbor kind of thinks something with the actual rack and pinion.

I had a similar problem on my 03 QC recently. It came on rather quickly, and progressed quickly. I checked fluid, tires etc. as you did, with no luck. Eventually I noticed that the steering linkage joints looked quite "dry" for lack of a better term. Pretty much out of ideas that weren't expensive, I cranked the wheel both ways, and sprayed the joints with WD40 from all angles I could. Sure enough, it got much better. To my surprise, it's actually lasted a few months too. I did some reading the the intermediate shaft is a common problem, but not cheap. I'll have to do a better lube job at some point, but it seems to be working for now. Hope this helps. Good luck.
