The PA body lifts are the easiest and cheapest to install and do not affect handling. Most of the Dakotas can squeeze 1 or 2" out of a T-bar crank and a block in the rear with no change of shocks. Suspension lifts are limited and we need to know what year, auto/manual, 2 or 4WD to give any specific lift information.

The only two lifts for that year is 3" Rancho or 5.5" Tuff country. I have never heard anything good about Tuff country and Rancho does not make the Dakota 99 lift anymore. Desert Rat might have one new one left and I have a used one still for sale. The most common easiest and cheapest body lift is the 3" Performance accessories lift and most people seem to fit 33's with no problems. I still have my 2" PA lift on my truck after the SAS and its fine. The PA lift comes with brackets to relocate the frobt bumper and you simply redrill the rear bumper holes. The tranny shift is a cable so no cutting and extending there. The 4WD shifter will need to be extended but is easy and you can still drive to the machine shop with the shifter removed so no problem there. I did mine alone in my garage in about 6 hours, not that tough.

Mike
