 Subject: V6 to V8 ECU

Scenario: '93 Dak' 3.9L, blown,
Swap to '97 5.9L from Ram. I have all the components figured out but the computer. Can I reprogram the V6 ECU to run the V8? Plugs are different, but I think with a wiring diagram I could sort that out. Are there any educational type books that I could use out there? I've got the two books by Larry Sheppard on the magnum motors but they don't cover the ECU other than part numbers. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

and a 93 was an EGR motor
a 97 is not

Also, '93 was OBDI emissions, 1997 was OBDII.
By law, you'll need to meet '97 emissions standards if you install a '97 engine.

Thanks, I think I'll be alright on the emissions. NC only does 10 years back. Some of the other strings I've read mentioned the gages and idiot lights not working right? Any more specific info/ fixes for that?
