Message: hey, im haveing a problom, when i come out of reverse and go to drive the engine wants to stall, there is no engine lights or anything on what could the problom be?

Message: yea this wont help but i have kind of the same prob with my 97 4x4 V8 and it will do it in reverse as well, especially in 4wd. i have been told it is time for a new torque converter.
anybody know more?

Message: it is probably your torque converter clutch solenoid (TCC). It is probably stuck on and the converter wants to automatically lock whenever in drive. For about 100-150 bucks you can get a new solenoid and install it yourself, ive done it and it takes a few hours or you can take it to the dealer. Mine got stuck in the off position so i had no lockup and my gas mileage got really bad.

Message: that would be the case if it stalled. if it sounds like it wants to stall, it could be the IAC clogged.
