i have a 2001 4.7L it has manual and electric fan. has anyone modded the electric fan and removed the manual fan? any cooling issues afterwards? or is there an aftermarket fan available?

I have an '01 4.7 quad and removed cluch fan over 7 yrs. ago. I've towed boats, trailers and waited for concert tickets idling with the air on max for 3 hrs. in 92 degree heat. I live in fla. and the factory electric fan works perfectly. Since summer of '01 my dak has never went passed center mark on gauge. Plus it frees up horsepower and fuel economy. I just bought an '05 4.7 quad 6spd, it didn't come with electric, but I'm putting a factory one on I got from E=bay and dumping factory clutch fan.
