 Subject: P/S gone

My 2001 Dakota P/S went out and the dealer said that the pump was gone and the presure hose should be replaced because it has a check valve that could be sticking, Could the presure hose cause the pump to out.

It's a seriously sticking check valve that can stay stuck against the output pressure of that steering pump.
