Message: An 82 Mustang GT?! IF its lucky enough to have EFI at all, it only has 140hp! Those Stangs are lighter then dakotas but not that much lighter. A R/T would walk on a 82 Stang a 92 would be a different story they got up to 185hp by then.
01dak, you will lose but not to the degree everybody is making it out to be. Both vehicles are in the 14sec range, providing you both know how to launch.

Message: well we did run and i did lose but what do you expect but it was that much. We have a straight that is about a 1/4 not perfect but close and he had me probably by 3-4 lengths. Thats not too bad i dont think. I def can get that speed if i did a cam and some heads or something to that extent.

My coal burner runs 13.o? - 13.2? at 98 - 102. The little womans QC 4x4 4.7 with 3.92 Dak will run fender to fender with the stock GT's. No her dak is not stock, looks mostly stock but its not.

Message: Yeah, that 01 4x4 2500 QC CTD is FAR from stock if it's in the 13's at all!
They run 15's and 16's stock at our fairly low altitude here in the AZ valley. Maybe a little quicker on the coast.
Stock Mustang Cobra's and Lightnings here also run low 14's here.
What kind of mods does your wifes Dak run? It is the same model as mine, and mine runs low 16's at best. Some stock ones were as slow as 17.0 and mine was 16.5 stock. If she's keeping up with ANY typical Mustang GT, then you have NO2 or something fairly major done to that heavy Dakota.

Message: Yeah that guy in the Dodge Cummins must not have really gone to the track. He named the GT's to run what Cobra Mustangs run. But that 2500 would need LOTS of help to EVER do a 13 second run! It was probably his guess. Maybe he should go to the track and find out he runs 15's or 16's.

Message: Sorry guys not new to racing. I have a 92 typhoon that runs 11.50-11.47 @ 123-126 depending on temps, yes on 92oct. Its black locals will know it.
The womans Dak? I guess I will start with the engine, 4.7 H.O. vintage 02'has some work done to the heads, JBA headers,Superchips on performance tow program, home made y-pipe with cats placed further down stream. And... drum roll please, 100 shot of NOS. There are some other tricks done to it also but nothing major. I will be picking up another H.O. engine soon to build as this one is showing that it has been beat. The new one will run better.
The RAM weighs in at 7200# If I could post a pic I would.

Message: becuase i see that list of mods, stg 4 injectors, twin turbos, smarty stacked with a TST, built tranny, all that, and you are only running 13s, i would have expected more, i can run a upper 14 with just an edge juice with attitude, would be able to drop it to a 14 with a descent tranny and a lift pump
