Subject: V8 Stalling! IP: Logged
Message: OK my 1997 V8 318 will not quit stalling. First it only did it in reverse and now it does it whenever it feels like it. Anyone else have this problem or know what the hell is wrong here? I had a Jet Chip in and I thought it was causing the stalling but then I took it out and it kept doing it. Help!

Message: I've had a simular problem with my V8 4.7 2002. When I put it in park it will idle down and sometimes just shut down. Any hints or suggestions? I couldn't duplicate the problem at the dealership and nothing gets logged on the computer readout. It happens probably 5 times/week.

Message: Hey thanks for the quick response. What's the URL of Bernd's site? I'll give it a try. By the way, nice truck. I'm on the market for a good looking brush guard. Any recommendations?

Message: Sorry, and thanks...that brushguard is a Rancho as are the sidesteps. Bought them off ebay for $365 shipped for the guard and steps together.

Message: Hopefully you have corrected the problem. Mine would just quit running, and it turned out to be the coil plug.

Message: If you are still having the problem check the relay box. They relay marked auto shutdown may be bad. I've had 4 of these go bad. There are 8 or 9 in the box next to the battery on 318.
