Message: Well. About .001 second of thinking about it renders:
Try them and see if they do what you want. Why ask here, when it's a simpler matter to discuss it with the neighbors that have the devices. We can't know the answers unless we know what year the snap-on tool was manufactured, what options it has, etc.
If your all that concerned, take it to a shop.
1992 is OBDI diagnostics.

Message: Bryon, don't be such a dick. Did it ever dawn on you that his buddy may not have a clue as to how to do it. If you didn't know anything about it either you could have just kept your mouth shut.

Message: Yep. I'm a dick, all right, but if you're right, then there's also 3 idiots: his buddy that has a tool he doesn't know how to use, his other buddy that has a module that he doesn't know how to use, and the guy that has these two buddies.
"Yeah. I got one of those. Don't know how it works, but at least I got one."

Message: stevedak, i wish i could help you but the only thing i can think of is for your freind with the scantool is to contact the local Snap-on rep. i've found that they are usually willing to help out their customers.
