Subject: Rough Idle and hestitation IP: Logged
Message: I have taken my dakota in for a rough idle problem 3 times now. The check engine light is not on but the first 2 times they replaced 2 bad spark plugs(did not help and questionable that they were bad) and the 2nd time a bad fuel injector. 3rd time- no problem found.
When the truck is started cold, I put it in gear and it acts like it wants to die. Major hestitation when starting from a stop. When it warms up, the idle hovers around 500 rpm in gear and the engine seems to lug. Occasionally when I tap the gas it will idle up around 700rpm.
Of course it is now out of warranty and the dealership will not look at it even though it is an existing problem that I reported to them.
Anyone with the same issue?
Also got a clunk when turning up a slight incline in the front end!

Message: Dude take them people to the better business bureau! Man they didnt fix it the first time...and it was reported! THEY GOTTA FIX IT. Walk in there say "IM GETTING RIPPED AND IF YOU DONT TAKE IT AND FIX IT YOU WILL BE RIDING IN IT TO THE HOSPITAL WITH A FOOT UP!"
JPT sold a cadilac to a rich fellow and it was a lemon and kept having problems with it. JPT didnt want to work with the guy and was giving him the shaft...so HE HAD PROPERTY ON HIGHWAY 90....HE PUT IT ON A CAR RACK RIGHT OFF THE HIGHWAY. Bought big yellow balls and put them by the car with a sign that said JPT SELLS LEMONS! They offered him two new CADILACS Rumor has it.

Message: Did you try cleaning the throttle body? When the carbon builds up in the TB it can cause rough idling and sometimes stalling too. Best thing to do is take it off and give it a good cleaning.
The clunk in the front end could be a bad ball joint.

Message: Try the IAC motor. I was pointed in this direction by CW and it does really make a difference in idle quality if it is bad.
As for the lemon deal, there is a local dealership that sold a guy a mercedes. The engine seized on him not to long after and the dealer refused to help him since it was used. Unfortunatly for the dealer the guy owns a farm acrow the hightway from them. He put the benz in his field and put an old Geo Metro on top of it with lemons on it. Inside the lemons it reads "better than a benz". If you ever travel to the Delaware shore you will most likely see him out there waving to traffic. Personally I think he need a better hobby, but i don't care for that dealer either.
