Subject: '01 quad 4.7l will not crank IP: Logged
Message: 2001 quad cab 4wd, 4.7 liter will not crank. tried to jump start, will start but will not idle. have to keep pumping accelerator. original battery and alternater. ran and idled fine last night, went to start this morning found this issue. only work ever done to it, replaced heater fan resistor last week. any suggestions where to start?

My battery in my 2003 Dakota dies eariler this year.
However I did abuse it and drain it many times when I forgot to turn stuff off.

Message: Graph, 6 yrs is pretty good. i got 7-1/2 yrs out of my original battery. just changed it out a couple months ago. i don't have any power acc. though. just a cd & 300 watt amp.

Message: i know this is dodge site but all batteries are the same. just changed out an original battery out of a 96 ford F150.

Message: Jake - you're right that this is a Dodge site, so take some consolation in that. All batteries are not the same though. Some are better than others; and some are better at specific tasks.
