hey guys i have a 97 5.2L 4x4. the other day i put it in 4x4 to get out of some deep snow and when i went to reverse i herd a loud thud noise and i could watch the shifter move quite a bit. The truck "did" move it was just very loud and didnt sound healthy at all. Moving forward its fine. Any have any ideas what that might be. Thanks

HMMM. Sounds as though you could've broken a front axle or something in the transfer case.
This is just a guess.
Anytime you get the slightest bit of binding with it in four wheel drive, you should drop it into 2wd.
