it is NOT API certified!!!
http://www.thedieselpageforums.com/tdpforum/showthread.php?t=11454

"I called the American Petroleum Institute to find out if Amsoil fully synthetic diesel oil is API approved (I talked to Kathy in the Motor Oils Division). I was told that Amsoil has been issued API License Number 0995 but that DOES NOT cover any of their multi-grade fully synthetic diesel oils. NoMo pointed out that the Amsoil does not carry the API starburst or donught-shaped logo.

Amsoil fully synthetic diesel oils are not API approved and are not approved for the use in your Duramax. API told me that all oils submitted for certification are tested by both their labs and an independent lab before a license for certification is granted. They would not tell me if Amsoil has submitted their oils and they failed, or if they have never submitted their oils for testing.

Amsoil claims that their synthetic diesel oils are "Recommended for Applications Requiring the Following Specifications:" and list various API ratings, but that is not the same a being API Certified, and not approved for the Duramax. They are telling you that you should beleive them that it meets API specifications, but we really don't know if it does or not. We do know it's not Certified as such. The only API Certified engine oils listed under the Amsoil license are the XL-7500 and PCO (synthetic blend) motor oils."

WATCH OUT ALL Royal Purple USERS

Royal Purple was specifically banned by Cummins due to excessive valve train wear.

If you don't believe it then just google it.

RP is big in racing circles but those engines are rebuilt after each race.

Royal Purple uses a different chemistry than most oils. They are one of only a handful of marketers using Moly in their oil. Moly is a solid which was specifically banned by Cummins.

Moly (Molybdenum Disulfide) is a processed mineral that is similar in appearance to graphite.

Moly has good lubricating properties when used either by itself in dry power form or as an additive to oil or other lubricants.

However, particles of the Moly can come out of suspension and agglomerate. This can actually clog oil filters or oil lines and the rest normally settles in the bottom of the oil pan.

Do you really want solid particles in your engine?

PROOF ---------------

Moly in Engine Oil (Royal Purple uses lots of Moly).

Check out the OEM bulletin from Cummins ....

It is the Cummins Engine Oil Recommendations Bulletin No. 3810340-02.

Or you can stop at a Cummins Dealer and purchased the bulletin for about $3.

On page 7 it has a section on FRICTION MODIFIERS states:

There is firm evidence that certain friction modifiers, molybdenum dithiophosphate (moly) for example, can in certain formulations result in cam follower pin failure at relatively low mileage.

Molybdenum compounds in motor oils can degrade and cause bearing corrosion and is particularly aggressive towards copper. In almost all cases, any engine oil formula having "moly" will also contain a Copper Deactivator which will protect bearings from the moly compounds. The only problem, the copper deactivator decomposes at relatively low temperatures and looses it's potency after a few thousand miles.

I SAID THIS EARLIER

I LEARNED THE TRUTH ABOUT API

All vehicle manufacturers in the U.S. have agreed that a warranty cannot be denied because a customer was using any particular brand of oil that meets specifications, unless an engine failure was directly attributable to the fluid. If it is not a fluid related failure, they cannot void the warranty. The law supports this position.

Plus, the dealer/manufacturer has no way of telling what fluid you are using. How do I know? I am a former aircraft technician. I too was sceptical in the beginning. But now I am a believer.

Amsoil meets and exceeds API specs.

USE AMSOIL WITH CONFIDENCE!

ballz it does!!!!!

post the str8 facts you lyin worthless piece of sh!t

amsoil submitted their oils for API testing!

they had to go back and cook up a whole new oil just to get one API approved!

this is so simple a dumb sh1t even as yourself can under stand it!

does anyone really think if their oils were "above" or even met api "minimum" standards
that they would only bring back 1 oil to get API certified ?????????

that statement is 100% true and speaks for itself!
amsoil COULD NOT get API certified!
and amsoil FAILED API minimum testing!!!!

ROYAL PURPLE is API certified

API is voluntary and not a mandate.

Redline is not API
Amsoil is not API
Not all Mobil oils are API
Some RP is not API

Who really cares about a gov't label
showing you meet minimum gov't API?

Amsoil exceeds minimum API certification!

GET A LIFE YOU Fücking RETARD.
