Message: I think it's an 01, 4.7 dak. I guess you're just used to saying it's a 4x4, same injectors.
They do make aftermarkets, usually they're 'refurbished' stock injectors. Look online or call around to your local shops. YOu'll see a big price difference, etc.

Message: Unless you have a bunch of mods its not going to make a difference except in your gas mileage. Which will go down.
If you really need some, I would suggest the ford motorsports 19 or 24lb injectors. I have the 24lb ones and they work well. I am getting 23.6 mpg on the highway with them. But I have some mods and will soon be going turbo.

Message: Changing to injectors with a flow rate differant than stock can be a problem. The computer opens the injector a specified period of time, to give the engine a specific amount of fuel. If you increase the flow rate but not the program, you'll be running very rich and mileage will suck.
A good upgrade is to a Ford injector. The Dodge injector has one hole to squirt fuel. The Ford part has 4 holes. Which gives you better atomization. Some people say they get better idle quality and smoother low end operation.
Also, get a set of matched injectors. There's quite a bit of variability in the stock parts. Getting a matched set makes for smoother operation and potentially a little more power.

Message: Jake,
Often injecters read bad cause they are open too much due to a bad O2 sensor.
YOurs just may be bad though.
If you're going to replace some injectors, use the same ones you had stock.
If you want to upgrade to a larger injector, (RARELY NEEDED), then you muxt replace them as a set on the 4.7, there are 8 injectors.
And NO, you don't need to change anything on the computer, even if you do go to slightly bigger injectors.
YOu see, the pulse of the injector is mainly proportional to the Throttle body position, and the O2 sensors for the mixture.

Message: Dude my set of 2003 Cobra 24lb injectors were $80 off of e-bay. They came out of a Cobra with only 11K miles so it was a good deal. They have been working flawlessly for the past 2 months. Why waste $400 on injectors when you don't need to.
