I just installed my Airaid intake.. 11 min my ass. The clip that was on the back.. was messed up, so I had to pull the damn thing out, and bend it a bit.. But, took about 20 min.. so instead of 11 min = 11hp.. I was hopinh got 20 min = 20hp. Dont see that happening though. Butta, I got in, started her up.. Instantly noticed it running cooler, the idle wasnt as rough, and when I got outta my drive way, i punched it.. Damn.. nice throttle responce, and nice sound. Cant wait to get my MBRP split rear's, and throttle body spacer. Have to do a little more research on those though!

Nicholas, I also have an Airaid, that’s been in my 99 Dak since it was two weeks old. I would say that it added perhaps 5-7 HP by itself. The Gibson cat-back I installed afterwards complimented it, and maybe gave me a 12-15 HP boost over stock (that's both mods combined).
The K&N FIPK, though more expensive, easily gives you twice the HP of the Airaid.
One of the biggest drawbacks of the Airaid, is that it uses your stock air hat. You can improve on it some what buy getting a 5 1/8" x 1/2" carb spacer from Summit Racing, P/N SUM-239000. You will have to fabricate a new S-bolt to use it, but that's OK, as the factory one has a restrictive bracket that blocks the TB bores. Just make sure you have enough hood clearance first!
You could also try to find a smoother, non-corrugated hose to run from the Airaid to the air hat, as that's another HP robber.
As for the TB spacers, save your money. They will do nothing for you.

Yo Fubar.. K&N doesnt have the FIPK out for the 4.7 2001 Dak.. everyones waiting, but they cant make up their mind on when its coming out. I wanted to get one and not spend my whole paycheck! lol. I was thinking more of the engine running a little cooler, butta, once I add the cat and a tonneou.. im done this year. Next year, im going with cowl induction anyhow. I like the hood! :) Butta.. maybe do some other mods to it next year. Gotta see how long im gunna keep it for first!

Sorry, Nic. I thought you had an LA-based engine (3.9/5.2/5.9). I have little experience with the 4.7s, other then installing a cat back on a friend's QC.
I was not too impressed with the Airaid on the LA's.
BTW, did you reset your PCM yet? I would.

hey.. I did a hell of alot of reserach on the intake, and the resetting of the pcm.. and everyone was sayin it would relearn in about 200 miles.. waitin to see what happens! lol
