Oh ya, have you seen the list of crap you have to do on the 4.7 with 4wd to change the oil pump.
Changing the motor might be easier, but not cheaper.

Message: the engine would not rotate by hand. I found an 08 dakota 4wd cc with 20k on a 4.7L. does anyone know if it will slide right into my 02 4wd cc dakota without issues? the guy said I could have the computer with the purchase of the engine.

Message: Just wanted to add to the solution to the oil pressure gauge falling to zero while idling. I had this issue on my 04 Dakota.
I changed the oil pressure sensor. There was also a ton of fluid in the electrical connector to the sensor. Cleaned that out too and haven't had an issue since.

Message: 2002 dodge Dakota 4.7 magnum 174,000 miles...start the truck up and a lite tap till oil pressure builds up (maybe a few seconds)drive the truck about 15 minutes the oil pressure gauge goes to zero the check gages light comes on and a lite tap starts coming from rockers. turn engine off ,let it sit 5 minutes, start engine and oil pressure gauge is fine and no tapping. again drive it 15 or less minutes and the gauge goes south and the tapping starts all over again. OIL PUMP BAD?
