My check engine light is constanly on (Code P0456). It hasn't gone off since it first came on a few days ago. I've tried taking off the gas cap and putting on my other one, but it's still on. Hoses look good to the gas tank and to the canister. Mind you not sure if there's a pin hole leak or not. Do I have to clear the code (disconnect the battery) to get the light off once the fix is complete (ie. if it was the gas cap and now it's on right, would the light stay on till cleared)? Or should it go out on its own once the fix is done and disconnecting the battery just clears the code from memory so you don't pull it next time the light comes?

I found the hose that connect to the air filter was off. I reconnected and reset the computer and the light is off now (hopefully stays off!!).
