Subject: RE: 4.7 Mileage IP: Logged
Message: Here is a experience my buddy had with the tacoma and tundra. My buddy started out with a 2006 tundra standard cab 8ft bed and the auto, 4.7 V8. He went through two transmissions in 3 months with less than 8000 miles on it. He then decided to trade it in for a 2008 4 door tacoma when the second tranny went out. His tacoma has less than 4000 miles on it and the tranny in it went out. The only thing he tows or hauls are three four wheeles on a a 6x12 trailer. He never takes in off road or drives it hard, and he keeps maticulous service records. Apparently the tranny is the same model in both trucks and the dealership has red flagged him because this is the third tranny they have installed for him under warranty. They have threatened to end his warranty and he has only owned the truck for about 2 months. My question is why is the dealership givening him a hard time they will get paid for warranty work so why not just fix the truck and try to keep him as a customer. This will be his 5th toyota, he had 2 t100 previously and a tercel. Why push a loyal customer away.
