Subject: Help P1491..... IP: Logged
Message: Hello there, long story short, I threw a P1491 (P1491 Rad Fan Control Relay Circuit An open or shorted condition detected in the radiator fan control relay circuit) about a month ago, as usual the Rad fan relay was fried so I replaced it. A new problem has started now, when I turn my ignition on, the check engine light comes on and low and behold it is P1491. This happens every time I turn on my ignition!! I have a superchips programmer so I just clear the code and I am good to go. There is nothing wrong with the Rad fan relay this time, so I am wondering what else it could be?? Any suggestions?? Thanks!!

Message: a lot of times you are unable to clear codes from the ECM for good with a super-chip installed in the system, all you are doing is clearing it from your super-chip BIOS not the main ECM bios, remove the super-chip and clear the code from the system,re-install your chip,
this should take care of your code problem,
good luck,
