I don't mean to ask you stupid questions, but it wasn't mentioned in your post....

Have you checked to see if you have enough oil?

When is the last time you changed the oil? Old oil will break down. When the motor is cold the oil is thicker (showing more pressur on the gauge).

What weight oil are you using and how many miles on your motor?

If the oil isn't the problem please list the year and engine of truck so the experienced people here can offer some opinions.

Low oil pressure can be caused by multiple things such as a worn oil pump, worn bearings, faulty pressure sensor, cheap or defective filters. What I would do first is go get a mechanical gauge you can pick it up for about $13 and see what it says. I installed a tee on my 5.9 2500 and run both a mechanical gauge and the factory one because I had the same problem However I would lose all oil pressure everytime I came to a stop. I ended up getting the crank and rods cleaned up and put new bearing in to fix it. However it could be that your oil sending unit is wearing out.
