I ported my tb not too long ago. It wasn't very difficult, just took some time and patience. I also used a hacksaw to cut the "airhorns" and most everything else off of the top and then rounded the resulting edges. I think that this mod is worth the effort and time. Here's the instructions that I used (there may be better ones out there...)

"2000dakota" makes me wonder if you have a '00 4.7 ? If so, I hope you're aware that was the only Dak with a 65 mm TB - others got a 68mm. I went with a ported 68mm for my '00. If you want to go that route you'll wnat one from a close year ('01 or maybe '02 ?) as they changed the TPS or IAC connection at some point.

Why p+p a throttle body when the air must pass thru passages that are rough and have near sharp corners?

He wasn't questioning if you owned a Dakota he was questioning if you had a 4.7 engine in your Dakota. You never stated in your first post if you did. That's why he asked.

How in the h$ll is he supposed to know you have a 4.7? Could have a 5.9 or 3.9 and I'll bet his crystal ball would have told him that too.
He said he wondered if you have a 4.7 "AND IF SO" then he gave you pertinent and valuable info ABOUT THE 2000 4.7L.

see that is why i ask in a different forum. and wow i got an answer right off the back. i did get anybody asking what i had. just a link to a web site to help me. and as far as being a dichead thanks i work hard to be one.
