Well, if its not one thing its another. I'm having a couple issues with my '99 5.2 V8 Dak. Its only got about 90k on it, so it shouldn't be this bad.
1. My speedometer sticks to zero until I hit 30 MPH. Once I get up that fast, it springs up and acts normally above that. This is also throwing off my trip meter which I use to track my gas. Any ideas?
2. I have a major misfire in my #8 Cylinder. I have new wires, rotor, and plugs. When I pull out the plug, its coated in oil. I've also noticed my undercarrage has a nice coating of oil on it however there is none actually leaking onto the ground underneath. Obviously my gas milage has suffred because of it, and it burns oil like you wouldn't believe.
3. The last thing is my brake and abs lights are now on. I had my breaks checked out and the are fully functional and have plenty of wear on them. They didn't have a way to test the ABS module, so it could be that failing, but i dont know.
Any suggestions?

Kay, #1 & #3 are related. it's the RWSS(rear Wheel Speed Sensor) located in the center section of the rear differential. it's near the top and should be really easy to change.
#2 could be the intake manifold/belly pan gasket. these are known to go bad. if you remove the airhat off of the throttle body and open the throttle(with the engine off) you can look down into the manifold and if there is a little oil puddling that's your problem.

So I took a look and there is oil. This means I have to replace the intake manifold gasket? A friend suggested I might have a cracked ring in the offending cylinder. Is this possible? Can I replace that easily without removing my entire engine?

if it looks wet inside that manifold, yes you'll need to replace that plenum gskt. it can be done without removing the engine. get a Haynes or Chiltons repair manual. i doubt it's a "cracked ring" in that cylinder. you could run a compression test on the engine. it would tell you better what's going on in there.
