I need some help on a dodge. Its not actually a dakota its a work truck in our fleet. Its a 98 2500 Ram with the 5.9. I was wondering if anyone on here has had trouble with the distributor cap getting a hole burnt through the coil tower. Ive replaced the wires twice once with autolites and now it has the factory wires on it, both sets ohmed out ok. Ive put 2 coils on it one was gp and again now its got one from the dealer. Ive also put caps on it from autozone, napa, advanced auto,federated, and now the dealer. They last about 3 weeks and it will start missing. I check the cap and it has a hole melted in the side of the coil tower. Im lost Ive never seen this happen so many times in a row. Ive tried posting on actual ram sites, but no help there so I thought Id ask you guys.
