Subject: Transmission problem IP: Logged
Message: hey guys this problem has happend three times now. The problem is sometimes when i go to 80 the rpms are at 3 and half and its not switchin into higher gear. Is this the overdrive slipping? and should i get a tranny guy to look at it? I also have a problem sometimes when i dont fully stop the truck and go into reverse it makes a clicking noise. thanks guys any info would be great

Message: I'd have some trans. tech look at it for the symptom of the O/D at 80.
That clicking noise your hearing is common in these trucks. I'm on my third Dakota and had that problem with all three when going into reverse. I went to the dealer to ask about it since one truck was brand new. The Dodge mechanic said it's not an issue, it's the way they were manufactured.
