Message: Can I get a t-stat @ Autozone?
My only hesitation with the t-stat is that my truck knocks really bad @ 3000rpm and up until the engine warms up. After warms up it still pings, but its definitely not as noticeble. So my question is, do you think that under those conditions, my truk might ping more with a 180 t-stat?

Message: I was just curious to know what color the plugs were when you changed them. Mabye instead of a timing or ignition issue its a fuel or air delivery issue.

Message: Plugs looked fine except for the red color on them from the seafoam.

Message: Ive read on another site that the jeeps with 4.7 with HO cams have a different plug than the regular 4.7. The only number I found was an autolite 3922. The post had similar characteristics to yours. The plug itself looks like about an 1/8th inch shorter than the standard 4.7 plug. The gentleman on the other site swore that was his problem all along. But you said the plugs looked fine so I dunno I just thought Id pass the info along.

Message: By fine, do you mean a light tan color ?
Did you replace the cam with the damaged pin ?
If not, do you think it could have shifted a bit ?

Message: I changed the pin but not the cam. I don't think its shifted but I cannot be certain.
As for the plug color, its kind of hard to tell since I've used Seafoam, its turned a reddish color. If I was running lean my plugs would be a whitish color right?
Also, I noticed that everyone says that after you apply Seafoam and let it sit, your supposed to see ALOT of smoke up start up. I didn't see any smoke after my seafoaming efforts. Do you guys think that I botched the job somehow?

Message: To look "fine", they should be a light tan color.
Sounds like you won't really know til you clean or replace the plugs and recheck.

i haven`t experianced it but a tech mentioned that the 4.7 can have cold knock issues. may be a flash available to fix it. running at temp is totally different and a colder stat may help.

Message: Word. I'll try it but if it doesn't work, I'm charging you $8.95 for the new T-stat:) Just kidding.
After everything I've tried, doing this couldn't hurt.
Thanks for the help guys, and I'll keep you posted.
Kowalski:
I checked the plugs this weekend and they were light tan in color.
