Message: Yes your light will come on and you may experience some rough idle. The O2 sensors monitor the pre-cats, not the third cat. You can pick up an 02 simms box for the 4 cats for $120.
Don't bother messing with those pre-cats, there hell to get off and you might as well save your energy for the aftermarket headers.

Message: don't even bother with the o2 simulators. I have had a set of homemade mil eliminator on my 4.7l for over a month now and no check engine light.
all you need it a 1mfg capacito 1/4 wat and a 650k resistor.
1. wire the resistor inline on the siganl wire for the o2.
2. wire the capacitor across the signal wire and to the reference wire for the o2 sensor.
I can email you picks if you like. MConiglio@fbmc-benefits.com

Message: A buddy of mine found a place to cut the pre-cats off but still manage to leave the O2 sensors in place. He gets a check engine light if he idles more than 20 min but he claims its his heads and cam.
About the 3rd cat...the place that did mine also did my exhaust and put in my headers so we had established a little trust. But he said if it ever came back to them they never knew me haha. Try a small town muffler shop like a hole in the wall place...not a well known place.

Do you know if the home made mil eliminator will work on a 3.9 V6 1997. I have lowered it and did the wheels and tires. Also put a limited slip rear end under it now I'm starting on the performance side.

Message: mike1, you don't exactly call around for this type of thing. Usually the best way is by word of mouth; they will deny it untill you bring up so-and-so. Tell them you need some exhaust work done on your farm truck.

Message: conig- BIG THANKS!!!
Your 99 cent parts worked perfectly. I had the two pre-cats but no more! I spliced in the parts, and re-installed the four o2 sensors back in my custom pipes. I now have true duals out of 2 1/2" pipe. I also installed the JBAs as well. An expensive mod though, but the conbination of the headers and a cat-less exhaust really added the power, most above 3000 RPMs. I had ZERO low end loss.

That's good to know. Please email me some pics. Did you loose any bottom end torque w/o the cat???
Oh, BTW, my guy says he needs to know the voltage for the capacitor so he can order it for me.

Message: Hey Jack, Jegs has o2 sims for any mopar vehicle, but they aren't cheap. It depends on how many o2 sensors you have, they range from $60 to $120. goto www.jegs.com, or if you have their magazine they are in there with all the exhaust components near the front of the magazine. Good Luck with all!
