It is just easier to buy a new sesor for a 2002 5.9. The 4.7 doesn't thread into place it just kinda locks in place. It would be difficult to plug the hole and relocate. The 5.9 one will just plug in and you will be able to thread it into the intake.

Mine's a 2000 Dak it should still be in the same place as the 01+ models.
See the 2 sensors on the TB look at the bottom black one where the wire harness connects, now look to the right alittle more. You will see a brass fitting with a gray harness attached to it.
That's the IAT sensor, sorry for the poor quality pic.

5.9 IAT has threads to screw into place. I had mine out when I changed the intake and it just sort of locks into place with a quarter turn.

Mine has threads on it. Then I guess they changed it in 01.

i have a 2002 4.7 dakota. is the iatsensor the blackconnector past the air filter left front side(drive) side4 wires. im trying to put a chip in line and not sure which is which thanks
