hey, just bought a 98 5.2L standard with 4x4 and im getting some grinding/vibration noise when turning and letting out the clutch from a stand-still. Seems to happen only after the truck has been on the highway for a while but only turning and letting the clutch out, not on straight take off. Seems like its in the drivetrain someplace. Differential/flywheel/cv joints? Any thoughts would be appreciated!

No, unless its going in automatically, even then the light for the 4wd should come on. I'll put my foot into it next time to make sure though:) At an idle in neutral a can here to clutch running possibly a bad bearing and it shudders on take off if i don;t give it enough gas.

Check your front wheel bearings. I had the same problem a little while ago w/ my 4x4. The passenger side is usually the culprit.
