Message: Starting this morning my check engine light came on with the code P-0456 which I think is a "small evap leak". Is this something a shade tree mechanic like myself can fix??

Message: Thanks for the replys!! I re-tightened my existing gas cap (it appeared tight already...???), disconnected my positive battery cable and reattached after about 5 minutes and the light went out. Thanks Again!

Message: if it is just the gas cap, the light will go out after a couple of start/run cycles. no need to reset the PCM. if it doesn't there is another problem.

Message: Checked for dry rotted lines by the vapor cannister. This can't always be assumed to be caused by the gas cap.
