Starting this morning my check engine light came on with the code P-0456 which I think is a "small evap leak". Is this something a shade tree mechanic like myself can fix??

Thanks for the replys!! I re-tightened my existing gas cap (it appeared tight already...???), disconnected my positive battery cable and reattached after about 5 minutes and the light went out. Thanks Again!

if it is just the gas cap, the light will go out after a couple of start/run cycles. no need to reset the PCM. if it doesn't there is another problem.

Checked for dry rotted lines by the vapor cannister. This can't always be assumed to be caused by the gas cap.
